Public Service Announcement

It’s time I add some structure to this thing. I’ve been rambling for about seven weeks now, with about one post a week, usually on Fridays, but sometimes Thursdays, and one time on Wednesday and Friday. Thank you to those who have stuck with me. :)

I would love to keep on writing one every week. The main reason I started the blog was to push myself to write more, and one a week still seems like a reasonable goal. So, I will grind on! You can look out for my post every Friday from now on. 

But, I feel the blog is missing something...

Since publishing my first ramble seven weeks ago, I have a little more vision for what I want this to be. I know I want it to be more than a creative outlet for practicing my writing and hoping people get something out of it. I want to see this become a place for inspiration. A place for encouragement. A place for vulnerability. A place for thoughtfulness. A place for seeking answers, or just screaming unanswerable questions. I want to see it become a place where words on a page help people feel understood through expressions of sadness, anger, joy, and every emotion known to man.

 All that being said, I feel completely overwhelmed and utterly inadequate…

Oh, how I long to write words that light flames in such ways. But, like Moses standing in front of the brightest flame and flinching, I argue with God. 

God knows our excuses before we stutter them. 

And so, He graciously sends Aaron. 

I’m such an amateur. I don’t even remember most of the rules of creative writing and poetry that all high-schoolers probably know. I’m stumbling through this blog-thing trying so hard to sound professional. Who is Mad Matt? No one. It’s a mask placed on a boy pleading for acceptance. That boy’s name is Matthew, by the way. He is really good at putting on personas and getting along with everyone. But that’s a ramble for another Friday. 

And now to the point of this PSA—my Aaron (the one who will speak when I can’t find the words to inspire, encourage, and ignite emotion) will be heard every Wednesday here on Mad Matt Rambles. I will be posting the words of professional writers, artists, and poets. Beautiful, captivating words. Words that have impacted my life. 

So, if my words fall short on Fridays, wait, truly inspiring words will be coming around on Wednesdays.

All that being said, I need your help.

I need you to send me your favorite music and artists. Send me songs with lyrics that have struck you. Send me beautiful, short stories and thought-provoking poems. Send me the names of the most captivating writers and poets you’ve ever stumbled across.

I need your help to fill these pages. Let's fill the empty spaces of this blog and the emptiness inside hungry, searching souls.

I’d love to be so bombarded with inspiration that I can’t help but post more than just Wednesdays and Fridays! 

I await your bombardment!
